PROJECTS
I am currently working on a screenplay adaptation for a recently published book. Thus, I cannot commit to any new, collaborative script projects at this time.
In addition, I am writing a short film to self-direct in late 2026.
‘AURORA SKY’, mythological thriller feature film screenplay. Magical realist in tone, with inspiration drawn from Greek mythology, specifically the ‘Orpheus’ myth. ‘Aurora Sky’ is a refugee story, in which ‘Orpheus’ is Palestinian and female.
‘Aurora Sky’ plays with representations between mythology and hyper-realism, in which the Gods become flesh. After his death, the protagonist, Noor sees visions of her husband, Aster, and ventures to the “underworld” nightclub in Kingston, South-West London to find him. The audience is led to questions what’s real, erasing the distinction between reality and other-worldliness.
The TV pilot, ‘SAM: A TEENAGE GIRL’, features a queer teenage, Muslim protagonist growing up in 1990s South West London. I engaged with youth culture (and a love for 90s music) to develop the screenplay, bringing a flavour of Gen Z to a view of recent history.
